DESDEMONA
a play about a handkerchief
By Paula Vogel
Directed by Heather Forgie

This comic deconstruction of Shakespeare's famous play about the Moor of Venice takes a new look at Desdemona, the tragic heroine murdered by her jealous husband when the strawberry-embroidered handkerchief he gave her is seen in the possession of another man. But was Desdemona really the wide-eyed, innocent victim the Bard has led us to believe? You'll never look at Othello in quite the same way again, once you've seen what our heroine got up to in the scenes Shakespeare didn't write!
